A Cappella Production Services

Better a cappella requires better albums – and your fans will love you for it. With the right production, they’ll pop your CD into the changer or plug in their iGottaHaveIt, roll down the windows, and turn the volume to eleven. They’ll slip on their earbuds and get lost in your sound as they hit the daily grind, or wait impatiently till the aircraft has reached 10,000 feet and the captain says it’s OK to listen to that Maroon 5 cover just one more time.

They’ll download, bookmark, playlist-as-verb, and share…because it sounds too good to keep it to themselves. And they’ll take to the Interwebs to demand a release date for your next album. And the one after that. Keeping your fans hungry for more? That’s better.

Arranging (equal parts “ooh, I love this song” and that voodoo that YOU do)

Besides all the fame and fortune and such, the beauty of better a cappella is that with the right arrangement, audiences can enjoy their favorite artists AND ooh and ahh over the unexpected twists you put on their tunes. We’ll help you throw new spins on old classics, and spice up current chart-toppers with a whole different flavor that’s perfect for your group’s unique sound.

Recording (a “keep it on repeat” finished product starts with stellar raw material)

First, we’ll get the team together to absorb your collective a cappella groove thang and establish your comfort level, communication style, and learning curve. But then we’ll divide and conquer. We’ll work with you individually to make you sound better  in ways you hadn’t considered, teaching you techniques to improve your performance. You’ll hear the difference the moment you start laying down tracks.

Editing (on-time, in-tune, and cotton-mouth free)

No matter how stellar your performance during recording, some technical wizardry (a.k.a. editing) is always required to make you sound even better. We’ll clean up all the miniscule gremlins that are a natural result of the recording process. We’ll line everything up where it belongs, cut it off when it’s supposed to end, and make it tiiiiiiiiiight, yo.

Mixing (where art and science fall in love)

Mixing is the intersection of technology and musicality. It’s about musical expression – crafting dynamic, three-dimensional sound, with motion and aural interest. It’s about creating those moments that move your audience. It’s about taking what’s great and making it even better.

Mastering (best sound ever, whether ‘buds, Bose, or backseat of a Bentley)

Consistent quality is yet another part of what makes your a cappella better. Just like websites are tested in a bunch of browsers, tablets, phones, and virtually every other screen-based operating system you can imagine, mastering is the final part of the process that makes sure your album sounds as good in your ’03 Chevy Cavalier as it does on your iPod.
