Mark Hines -- a cappella recording genius.

Mark’s professional singing career began when he was six years old after a guest slipped him a five-spot for singing at his parents’ dinner party. Mark continued his precocious performances, singing with advanced choral groups and winning honors left and right. A performance of “Ave Maria” by NC State’s Grains of Time was the a cappella bug that first bit Mark, and he made it his mission to join the group (need we say he succeeded?). Mark proceeded to lead the group on an international tour, produced their albums during each year of his membership, and arranged their ICCA Best Arrangement Award winner, “Homeward Bound.”

Along the way, he worked with and learned the art of recording from Dave “Dio” Sperandio, joined forces with some guy named Nick Lyons, helped Dio kick-start a li’l festival called SoJam, became said festival’s first executive producer (and did it for the three-peat), worked full-time for an a cappella production company, joined AACI, was appointed to the CASA Board of Directors, and teaches the wildly successful “Serious Business” a cappella course. He’s had the honor of working with Deke Sharon, Jonte Ramsten, Bill Hare, Roger Thomas, Claude McKnight, Christopher Diaz and Ben Stevens…to name a few.

In his spare (ROTFLOL) time, Mark continues his passion for all things acoustic with Intelligent Electronics, where he brings the joy of spectacular sound to homes and businesses throughout the Raleigh, NC area. His one true love, a Shepherd-Chow beauty named Kali, is said to bark in perfect pitch.
